Alex began working with leather at age 20 in Mexico, starting with basic tasks in a small local warehouse where he developed a strong eye for craftsmanship. In 1999, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue opportunities with designers, steadily advancing from a line worker to roles in pattern making, design, and quality control.

After years of experience, he decided in 2010 to follow his own path. In 2011, he founded Alex Leather Design with minimal equipment in a small studio. What began as small projects grew into a thriving downtown LA operation, serving clients across the U.S., Europe, and beyond. Today, the company continues to uphold Alex’s original values of quality, craftsmanship, and dedication.
